Start with proportion — decide between a square radiant (length-to-width ratio 1.00 to 1.05, bold and balanced) and an elongated radiant (ratio 1.10 or higher, finger-lengthening silhouette). On color, G and H grades appear very white in radiant cut due to the shape's dispersed light return, making them excellent value. On clarity, VS1 to VS2 is recommended for engagement ring center stones. Viewing the stone in person is the most effective way to assess both proportion and brilliance.

Yes. Radiant cut's brilliant-cut facets scatter light strongly across the stone's surface, which makes inclusions significantly less visible than in emerald cut's transparent step-cut facets. VS1 and VS2 are recommended for engagement ring purposes, but SI1 stones can appear eye-clean in radiant cut where the same grade would show more readily in emerald cut. Viewing the actual stone is the most reliable way to judge.

Yes. All radiant cut loose diamonds at Weiss carry GIA or CGL certification, documenting color grade, clarity, carat weight, and other quality characteristics. Both laboratories are credible for purchasing purposes; GIA is the more internationally recognized of the two. Note that radiant cut does not receive a formal GIA cut grade — that grade applies only to round brilliant cut diamonds.
